Royal Enfield Astral Ride

Some journeys aren’t just about reaching a destination, they are about losing yourself somewhere between the earth and the stars.

Our film and stills project with Royal Enfield was exactly the same, an unforgettable Royal Enfield Astral Ride to Hanle which started from Leh, where the road ends, and the universe begins.

Royal Enfield Astral Ride

We had the incredible opportunity to document this once-in-a-lifetime journey. We captured the thundering spirit of Royal Enfield riders as they chased horizons, climbed altitudes, and stood still beneath a blanket of stars. Here’s a glimpse into the story we lived and filmed.

We provide end-to-end solutions for every production need from location scouting, line production, and permits to local crews, gear rentals, and even hot chai at 17,000 feet. Whether you want to work with a nimble two-person crew or a full-scale film unit, we have you covered.

About the Astral Ride to Hanle, Ladakh

Royal Enfield Astral Ride Ladakh is an invitation to soak in the stars and discover a whole new world.

On the very first edition of Astral Ride, a passionate group of motorcyclists set out to explore the untouched corners of Ladakh that are ideal for astro photography.

The purpose was to guide travel photographers through the landscapes of the Himalayas and teach them the nuances of astro photography while on the move. To give motorcycle enthusiasts who are curious about travel photography the ultimate playground where the Milky Way itself becomes their canvas.

Hanle, a remote village tucked away in the cold desert of Ladakh, isn’t just another pin on the map, it’s a dark sanctuary where you can truly touch the stars. Known for hosting one of the world’s highest astronomical observatories, Hanle offers night skies so crystal clear that the Milky Way looks close enough to brush with your fingertips.

That’s exactly where Astral Ride led an enthusiastic group of riders combining their love for motorcycles and the night sky under Ladakh’s famously clear skies. As part of this astral experience, riders attended a masterclass with accomplished photographer Navaneeth Unnikrishnan, learning to capture the breathtaking beauty of the Milky Way.

Project Objective

Our vision was to create a cinematic visual library that captured the pure essence of this astral adventure. Blending the spirit of travel photography with cinematic storytelling, every shot was designed to showcase the coordination between man, machine, and the universe. A journey not just through landscapes, but through experiences. A story to be shared across Royal Enfield’s digital universe.

Our Approach

From the very first day, we knew this wasn’t going to be a typical shoot. It demanded patience, sensitivity, and an eye for the extraordinary.

  • We shot riders as they traversed rugged terrain, river crossings, winding mountain roads, and dusty valleys.
  • Focused on the raw, unfiltered spirit of adventure, the dust trails behind tires and the throttle through the thin air.
  • Filmed them under Hanle’s legendary night skies, using astro photography techniques to capture the galaxy sprawling overhead and participants/riders learning from the master.
  • Highlighted the stillness with bikes parked under constellations, helmets resting on the ground, riders lost in awe of the universe.

Every sunrise, sunset, and starlit moment became a painting of light, patience, and story.

We curated and delivered a collection of high-resolution photographs and cinematic film that told the story of the Astral Ride for the next batch of the ride.

From adrenaline-charged riding shots to the deep quiet of the cosmos, every frame was crafted for multi-platform use, enabling Royal Enfield to showcase this extraordinary journey across campaigns, social media, and beyond. Our visuals not only captured the rugged spirit of the ride but also the silent poetry of Hanle’s night sky, creating a brand narrative that was both powerful and poetic.

What made this project unforgettable was the intersection of grit and grace. We didn’t just capture motorcycles speeding across Ladakh, we filmed moments of surrender, of riders becoming small beneath a sky infinite in its silence. We believe the best stories aren’t staged, they’re lived. And the Astral Ride was a story of feeling of adventure, awe, and deep, soul stirring humility.

We didn’t only document a ride, we captured the moment where the human spirit, roaring motorcycles, and silent galaxies intersected.

At Lifeworks Studios, our deep-rooted presence in Leh Ladakh and our obsession with quality visual storytelling allow us to offer far more than just beautiful locations. From local crews, drone operators, and fixers to permits, logistics, and post-production, we handle every aspect with precision. Before, during, and after the shoot.

We’re all about the work, not the noise. No fluff. Just high-altitude production done right.
