As the new year dawns, automotive enthusiasts and photography aficionados have a reason to celebrate with the launch of the 2025 Supercar Calendar, a passion project by acclaimed automotive photographer Ishan Saxena. Based in Delhi NCR, Ishan has worked with renowned brands like Royal Enfield, Triumph Motorcycles, MG Motor, Skoda, Ford, and DC Design.
However, this calendar holds a special place in his heart, not just as a tribute but also to honor Nitin Rose, whose memory inspired his commitment to this monumental endeavor.
For Ishan, the journey to bring this calendar to life spanned few months before 2025. It began as a dream four years ago, one he nurtured while grappling with professional commitments, personal doubts, and the inevitable delays that come with chasing perfection. The idea was ambitious to travel across India to shoot twelve supercars in the natural environment setting, a keepsake for proud owners. The calendar was to be a fusion of real-world locations, expertly captured lighting, and subtle CGI enhancements to create a visual masterpiece that stands out.
What followed was nothing short of an odyssey. Armed with nothing more than his trusty camera and a tripod, Ishan set off on an exciting journey, travelling across multiple cities in India – Pune, Calicut, Mumbai, Ahemdabad and more. There were no teams, no extensive equipment setups – just pure grit and a singular vision. Midnight flights turned into sleepless nights, followed by early morning shoots, where he raced against time to catch the first light of day. Each frame required planning and impeccable execution to blend the exotic beauty of the cars with the diverse Indian landscapes.
But beyond the visuals, the calendar is a tribute—to Nitin Rose and to every dreamer who dares to pursue their passion despite the odds.
I had the privilege of starting my career with Nitin Rose in 2012, working on iconic projects for Aston Martin Racing, Cannonball Club, TopGear Magazine, and Royal Enfield. From him, I learned not just the technicalities of automotive photography but also the importance of storytelling, precision, and fostering relationships with brands. His approach to artistry and client expectations served as a blueprint for my own professional development and continues to inspire my work today – Ishan Saxena.
